A Cannes debut planned for Only God Forgives?

The Film Stage shares that 'Only God Forgives' is planned for a May release in France leading to speculation of a return to Cannes!  Ryan Gosling and Nichloas Winding Refn were at Cannes last year with Drive and it would be great to see them repeat Drive's success with their next collaboration!!

The Film Stage shares a new still from Only God Forgives from Premiere Magazine.  The still shows Ryan looking on presumably into a boxing ring.  There is also a poster!! To quote them .."Check it all out below for what’s easily shaping up to be one of our most-anticipated 2013 releases."

 

The FilmStage.com shares a Synopsis of the film

"Julian (Gosling) lives in exile in Bangkok where he runs a Thai boxing club as a front for the family’s drugs smuggling operation. When Julian’s brother Billy is killed their mother, Jenna (Kristen Scott Thomas), arrives in the city. She wants revenge and forces Julian to find the killer. Julian’s contacts in the criminal underworld lead him directly to The Angel of Vengeance, a retired police officer who knows everything and who is both Judge and Punisher. Jenna demands that Julian kill The Angel of Vengeance, an act that will cost him dearly."

Ryan Gosling: lunch with a friend in Los Angeles

Why so shy, Ryan Gosling?
The seriously sexy star was snapped having lunch in Venice, Calif., at local hot spot Gjelina Monday where the he tried to remain incognito in a camouflage baseball cap.
But despite his best attempt to hide his face, the flawless mug under that brim is undoubtedly Mr. Gosling's, and it looks like the handsome hunk is still sporting his facial scruff.

The 32-year-old actor was at the restaurant dining with a friend and looked casual in jeans, a leather jacket and a sweater. He tilted his baseball cap down and wore a key around his neck as he enjoyed the quiet meal.

Ryan Gosling is on Dishmags list of actors with bands

Ryan Gosling has been added to another list ... Dishmag have collated a list of actors with bands and to quote Dishmag "there are a few actors who have deservedly gained street-cred for their musical abilities."

Ryan Gosling formed Dead Man's Bones with his friend Zach Shields in 2008.  Gosling and Shields have an obsession with scary subject matter and write songs stories about ghosts and monsters. To see some of their songs have a look at our Halloween music post here.

While not every reviewer appreciated the competition (read Scars magazines review here) Dishmag have great things to say about Ryan and his band 'Dead Man's Bones'
