Release date for The Place Beyond The Pines

According to Box Office Mojo The Place Beyond The Pines "is now scheduled for limited release in March"

Updated: Collider.com have commented on the earlier than expected release date for 'The Place Beyond the Pines' expressing surprise that the movie would be released so early.  After positive reviews and generating awards buzz at the Toronto Film Festival commentaters expected an awards season release sometime in the fall..

"The Toronto Film Festival is widely considered to be the place where a majority of the buzz for so-called “awards films” begins, and this year one of the biggest surprises was Derek Cianfrance’s (Blue Valentine) crime drama The Place Beyond the Pines.  The pic stars Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper and centers on the intense feud between a professional motorcycle rider turned bank robber (Gosling) and a rookie police officer (Cooper).  The film premiered to an enthusiastically positive response at TIFF, with heavy praise given to the film’s scope and impact; our own Matt Goldberg called it an “epic family saga” in his positive review."
Great news! ... or maybe not such great news as we first thought?

Ryan Gosling shows how it's done

Getting ready for Halloween and putting together your playlists?  Ryan's band 'Dead Man's Bones' should be on that list!

Mike Usinger who blogs for Vancouver's Straight.com recommends adding 'Lose you soul' to your Halloween playlist .. check it out to see what you think!  Mike adds
"Normally there’s nothing scarier than a Hollywood actor who, not happy with just commanding the silver screen, decides to move into the world of pop music.  ... For today’s countdown to Halloween we give you an actor who totally got things right. Ryan Gosling is one of the cofounders of Dead Man’s Bones, whose eopnymous debut disc is creepy and scary for all the right reasons."

Speculation that 'Only God Forgives' may be a surprise entrant at the Rome Film Festival

There are apparently two surprise entrants to the Rome Film Festival.  Some have speculated that 'Only God Forgives' starring Ryan could be one of the two surprise new films to be seen at the festival.

The Rome Film Festival is in November and looking to rival Venice "to create the visibility and the right profile for a film"
"Film bloggers have speculated that the other surprise could be Only God Forgives, starring Ryan Gosling in a tale about a Thai boxing match between a policeman and a gangster. The movie is directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, Danish film-maker behind 2011’s hit Drive."
Lets hope we get an early glimpse of this next collaboration between Ryan and Nicolas Winding Refn.

CH: He is everything you would want him to be.

JG: And after you leave Sydney, what’s next?

Cute fan encounter "Order the Hummus Masabacha with pita on the side"

We loved this story about what a great guy Ryan Gosling is ...  we've included an excerpt from this fan encounter but please go to the source to read the whole article.

Would you recognize Ryan if he was sitting next to you at a Hummus Restaurant?
"I was enjoying the quiet, sunny day by myself in the East Village of New York,  looking for a late lunch post-yoga… I came past a nice, average looking Hummus restaurant.

I smiled & politely asked the only people (two guys) still dining out front if the food was any good. The guy in the cap & sunnies said “it’s the best”, so I sat down on the table next to him (the only other table there)… and then the same guy proactively proceeded to advise me on the best dishes to try, from his experience. Nice guy.

As he was sitting next to me, talking & pointing at my menu it slowly but surely dawned on me that this was RYAN GOSLING advising me on my lunch order.

For Real. OMGosling.

The ‘dawning’ happened in slow motion as he spoke to me… In a way that, at this point, made it impossible for me to reach for my camera. I was too far in as a ‘normal’ behaving person to turn all psycho-crazy-screaming-fan on him now."
