Saoirse Ronan talks about Ryan Gosling

From 98FM:
The gorgeous Ryan Gosling, star of “The Notebook” will soon make his directional debut in a movie starring our very own Saoirse Ronan. “How to catch a monster” will be released here next year.

Saoirse told 98FM: “I didn’t know the news had been released so I was telling people I couldn’t talk about it. But yeah I’m working with Ryan. I met him a few years when I was meant to be booking on something with him that didn’t work out but I know how lovely he is and one of our great friends is working on costume on it too so it’s great!”.
So funny when asked by 98FM if she thinks Ryan is a ride, Saoirse laughed saying “I can’t say that about my future director. He’s my boss”.
She was talking about the movie Lovely Bones. Saoirse is such great casting for HtCaM.

Saoirse Ronan joins How to Catch a Monster

From THR:
Saoirse Ronan has come aboard Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut How To Catch A Monster alongside Eva Mendes, Matt Smith and Ben Mendelsohn.

Christina Hendricks will star in the film billed as a modern fantasy-drama based on a script by Gosling.

Scheduled to begin shooting this May in Detroit, the movie is being touted to buyers by Sierra/Affinity at the EFM.

Marc Platt and Adam Siegel are producing on behalf of Marc Platt Productions, along with Gosling via his Phantasma Films label and Michel Litvak and David Lancaster via the Bold Films banner.

Set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city a single mother of two is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.

Best known for her roles in Atonement and Hanna, Ronan will next be seen starring in The Host and How I Live Now.

She is currently shooting Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel and next stars in Working Title's Mary Queen of Scots.
This is such great news! I wonder if she will play Rat... We are so excited for HtCaM. The cast is turning out amazing!

Eva Mendes and Rob Zabrecky join Ryan's How to Catch a Monster

Exciting news for How to Catch a Monster!

Bloody Disgusting received exclusive word that Eva Mendes (Ghost Rider, 2 Fast 2 Furious) and Rob Zabrecky have been cast in Bold Films’ How to Catch a Monster, which is to be directed by Ryan Gosling.
They join the previously announced Christina Hendricks and Ben Mendelsohn.
The story is set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city and centered on a single mother of two being swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.
We’re told that Mendes will play “Cat,” a prominent figire of the Big Bad Wolf Club. Zabrecky is to play a cab driver.
Shooting is scheduled for this May.

I think Eva is perfect for Cat and the cab driver is called Rob so maybe Ryan had Zabrecky in mind the whole time? We can't wait for shooting to start and to find out who will be cast as Bones and Frankie.

Want to be directed by Ryan Gosling?

There is a casting call for parts in Ryan's directorial debut “How to Catch a Monster” which looks likely to film in Detroit.  Ryan reportedly scouted southeast Michigan locations for the movie last summer and the films producers have applied for the state of Michigan’s tax incentives.

Currently the roles of “Bones,” “Frankie” and “Face” are asking for video submissions but excitingly the site says to check back often as more roles will be made available.  So check at the site (here) if you're interested!!
Bones
(Lead) Male, 17- 19 in appearance; caucasian or mixed race (caucasian and African-American)
MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER.
An introspective loner with an active imagination. His challenging home life has toughened him, but he still clings to childhood fantasies. Balancing melancholy intensity with an innocent sense of wonder, he is driven by a strong desire to face his fears. Soulful, offbeat and quietly charismatic.

Frankie
Male (3-6, bi-racial [preferably Caucasian/African-American])
A "feral" like boy who is constantly getting into trouble for trying to escape his school and house. Quiet and withdrawn but with an expressive face and deeply active internal life. Almost reminiscent of a silent film character. Younger brother of BONES. Please Note: We are looking for a natural, realistic performance from children, not an exaggerated one.

Face
Male (13-mid 20's, any race)
A small-town trouble maker from the wrong side of the tracks. He is the constant, silent companion of the dark and sinister character, BULLY. His trademark is the unusual and distinctive appearance of his face. We are seeking actors with any type of unique and unconventional facial characteristics for this role. The more uncommon and different-looking the better. Actors with scars, birth marks are encouraged to submit.
The filming is scheduled to begin shooting in Detroit in May.
